Plate Discipline? Check. Cowboy chaps? Check. Baseball Pedigree? Double check.

 

The ability to spit at balls out of the strike zone is there. Also the athleticism and hand strength to vaporize hanging curve balls…..but fastballs in might be junior’s foil and his constant source of frustration at higher levels.

 

Will we see him turn on an inside fastball this summer?

 

If so the old man may be negotiating a 1-1 deal come June.

Speed? Check. Glove? Check. Swing Path? Double check.

 

Offers tons of value on both sides…but he looks like a hungry hitter. With that swing I’d like to see him hunt for the right pitches.….if so, we may have Didi Gregious type.

 

Questions:

1) Will we see him refine approach at the plate and be more selective?

2) Does he track pitches well?

3) How will the body hold up over the summer merry-go round?

 

Do we have a sleeper 1-1 candidate here?

Riley Greene

 

Going back old school Henry Rodriguez name came to mind here.

 

The swing here is fashioned to do well on pitches low in the zone. It’ll be worth monitoring how he controls the zone above the waist throughout the pageant circuit.

Rece Hinds –  the launch angle maestros got him…TBD

 

Corbin Carroll – I think we are catching a guy on the uptick. There’s some controlled aggression at the plate worth monitoring. May end up with the best hit tool in HS class??

 

Anthony Volpe – his glove acts like a magnet…has constantly exhibited play-making ability in the dirt. A team will value the glove enough to allow him to grow at the plate

Ethan Hearn – is worth monitoring under my microscope next time I see him.

 

Myles Austin – put together some good swings, worth monitoring how he develops.

 

Darius Perry – bears a resemblances to Jose Molina

 

Spencer Jones – long legged left-handers are treated with a little bit of an extra premium in the Draft, so if you want this baby giraffe you kind of have to get him early

 

Matthew Thompson – stock just exploded….ball came out of the hand nice and  smooth.

Brennan Malone – Saw a Dillon Tate from afar….

 

Hunter Barco – fiddles w/ hitting but that will end pronto. playpen type?

 

Daniel Espino – makes fans giddy and hitters nervous…… arm action reminded me of Matt Harvey.

 

Quinn Priester – got some swing n miss from Witt. Was it movement or Witt’s hole? TBD

 

Jack Lieter – MLB offspring attacks the zone.

 

Derek Diamond – Double D’s punishment for throwing a curve ball is this video clip….
