Summer Pageant Notes 2018:
Who will go # 1 in 2018? I’ll make this short, like my 2018 draft preference list…….
Usually I’m one of the biggest pageant skeptics out there as I think everything is staged…..but I truly think this year was real; those actions on the field this year are hard to fake….School may be a much richer and more rewarding experience for many…..time to get that evening blessing and pray that we may hear the crack of a bat in the spring and find a 1-1.
Brice Turang – If we’re being completely honest here, it was all just slightly disappointing. We can skip all the small talk and get right to the chase on this one. The top of the draft is not supposed to be for handsy swings who tangle on the showcase circuit. Should be crushing 88-92 on the inner half and not fouling them off. Passive BP approach didn’t help him with those sitting in the sun writing numbers in little boxes either.…… What ever happened to that quick twitch guy that was putting balls off the scoreboard in BP at last years Area Code tryouts at USC?? Will need to make some adjustment before EXCELing.
PS : not a burner or true center fielder, and his modest arm strength makes him a better fit at 2B than SS.
Matt Liberatore –
I’d show up with flowers in hand…… Lefty blossomed this summer, menu feature’s three pitches;. Top 10 pick?
Ethan Hankins
Georgia Peach…..arm work very well and should be able to handle a starter’s workload
Kumar Rocker
Georgia product will up your dipping game…… Bullpen life, delivery isn’t graceful, presence & deceptive w/mid-90s fastball and hard slider could make him effective in short bursts….at 1st glance reminded me of Jose Mesa/Antonio Alfonseca
Dominic Pipkin
Ball coming out of his hand effortlessly dude was a big lottery winner
Jordan Groshans
put a smile on my face, explosive hips are the key to my heart.
Joe Gray
performance felt a little tentative, as if he’s still figuring out but very intriguing….Made for frolicking in the sun in the back fields…
Osiris Johnson
You’ll almost hear the crack of a bat…it’s close. Will require some patience here
Triston Casas
May want to reclassify back to 2019
Jared Kelenic
I’m not sure he could barrel a ball off a tee right now with that swing
Preston Hartsell
Apparently won a HR derby – Cue the memory reel of good times
Julian Boyd
is apparently a martial artist or boxer in pre swings….
Jake Moberg
The more I saw, the more intrigued I became
Kameron Ojeda
Better w/ metal than wood at this point, generated very little bat speed
Cole Roederer
reminds me of a little of Joc Pederson….no chance of catching up to anything above his hands
Owen Sharts & Ethan Reed
officially started making an impression
Jarred Greene
has the best swing in Socal
Matt Mclain
most polished skills on Brewers AC team…Madrigal, Nick Allen type?
